I am not going to do the usual movie review. Just wanted to share how I felt coming out of the movie, my friends warned me is yet another "Karan Johar" movie.
I am glad I went in expecting nothing great it made it all the more special. The movie has its on rhythm, no definite plot and a predictable story line. But what won me over was Ranbir as Sid, I cant think of anyone else who could portray the role to near perfection. Konkana Sen is brilliant as Aish and is someone every other girl living in a different city from home, earning a living can relate to.
Sid's rudeness to his parents and the gradual learning and growth of the character is done beautifully. Its gradual but its done quite nicely nonetheless. His friends, the college atmosphere and his carefree attitude will take you back to your life in college and also make you feel "It's all ok". His life is something any guy can relate to, there is a balance with friends, clubbing, getting drunk and just enjoying the late nit drives and the Mumbai Monsoons.
Aish and her strength and solidarity is what shines through her character. She took up a filthy flat and worked on it to make it her home. A person new to a vibrant city to being a part of it and growing with it. She gave Sid home when he needed one, putting up with his tantrums a little patiently, also snapping when it gets to her, makes her more real, as real as you and me. The realisation that what she wanted was right with her, her timid jealousy and her outburst when Sid's leaving is all done brilliantly.
The rest of the cast is close to perfect and the proof is in the feeling you get when u walk out knowing it was a good couple of hours that got you so involved in something you can relate to.
The music is chirpy bright and Iktara is just beautifully soulful!

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
